Bul-bul Memorial Museum, Baku

The Bul-bul Memorial Museum, also known as the House Museum of Bulbul, is a historic house museum dedicated to the renowned Azerbaijani Soviet singer Bulbul, located in Baku. This museum, housed in the apartment where Bulbul lived from 1937 until his death on September 26, 1961, was established through the personal efforts of Heydar Aliyev, then First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. The museum's creation began in 1976, and it was ceremonially opened on June 10, 1982.

Situated on Bulbul Avenue, the museum features four exposition rooms. Three of these rooms are preserved as they were during Bulbul's lifetime, serving as a direct link to his personal and professional life, while one room is used for exhibitions. These spaces collectively showcase a variety of exhibits, including original manuscripts, gramophone shafts, photographs, notes, books, household items, artwork, and personal belongings, which provide insights into Bulbul's multifaceted career-encompassing his creative, scientific, pedagogical, and social activities.

The museum was initially managed by Bulbul's wife, Mammadova, who was appointed as the director on July 1, 1977. It not only celebrates Bulbul's legacy but also serves as a cultural repository reflecting the rich musical history of Azerbaijan. The Bul-bul Memorial Museum in Baku continues to serve as a significant cultural institution, preserving and promoting the cherished heritage of one of Azerbaijan's most celebrated figures.
