Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg (MAN) is one of Germany’s foremost engineering companies, and its history is comprehensively illustrated in a museum in Augsburg. The MAN Museum offers a straightforward dive into the history of the company, established in 1840. Spread across 1,800 m², the museum covers the evolution of MAN's technology, highlighting its impact on industry. The exhibits are organized into sections dedicated to different aspects of the company's history, including a hall showcasing vehicles from MAN Truck & Bus AG and areas focusing on MAN subsidiaries like RENK AG, which specializes in drive technology, and MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, known for diesel engine technology.

Opened in 1953, the museum is housed in the former premises of the MAN Research Institute for Mechanics and Design. It traces MAN’s journey from its early days with steam engines and printing presses to the modern era of diesel engines and commercial vehicles. Key highlights include the first test diesel engine from around 1893, marking a significant moment in industrial history.

The museum not only reflects the company’s evolution from Sandersche Maschinenfabrik to today’s MAN Energy Solutions SE but also showcases MAN’s pioneering products made in Augsburg, like printing presses and diesel engines.
