Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art, Vienna
In 1972, Mario and Waltraud Mauroner established the Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art Salzburg gallery (formerly known as Galerie Academia). With over 40 years of international experience and participation in more than 500 exhibitions and international art fairs, they expanded their presence by inaugurating an additional 1200 square meters of exhibition space in Vienna, spread across two levels. This space was designed to showcase large-scale sculptures, which have become a significant focus for the gallery.
In addition to this, the gallery has diversified its program to include exceptional contemporary artists, particularly from the Mediterranean region. These artists share a commitment to advancing their creative work independently of current artistic trends. In Vienna, aside from the main ground floor and basement areas, there is a dedicated space known as "roomnumberOne," exclusively reserved for emerging young artists.
In October 2014, the Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art VIENNA introduced a new project space called "All About Art." This space is dedicated to interdisciplinary projects and hosted "In relation," a solo exhibition by Mischer’traxler Studio in September 2017.
