Missouri Civil War Museum, Saint Louis

The Missouri Civil War Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the American Civil War, with a particular focus on Missouri's complex role as a border state. Opened in 2013, the museum is housed in the beautifully restored 1905 Post Exchange and Gymnasium building at Jefferson Barracks. The historic military installation itself was established in 1826 and served as an important training and supply center during the war.
