Mosque "Al Jihad", Hurghada

Mosque Al Jihad is a local place of worship with a strong connection to everyday life in the Sakkala district. It is smaller and less tourist-focused than El Mina Mosque, which is often confused with it, but it offers a clearer view of a working neighborhood mosque. Its setting contrasts the movement of shops, traffic, and pedestrians outside with the calmer religious space within.

The mosque follows classical Arabic architectural traditions, with twin minarets, arched forms, a dome, and decorative details shaped by Islamic design. The minarets can be seen from a distance across the low coastal skyline and serve as useful visual markers in the area. Five times a day, the adhan, or Islamic call to prayer, sounds from the mosque and adds a traditional rhythm to the surrounding urban noise.

On Fridays, Mosque Al Jihad becomes especially important as a community gathering point. During the main congregational prayer, nearby shopkeepers and residents may spread prayer mats outside when the interior fills. Visitors should dress modestly, remove shoes, and avoid prayer times. The mosque offers tourists a respectful glimpse into local faith, architecture, and daily community life.
