Sheraton Road, Hurghada

Sheraton Road is one of the main commercial and tourist areas on the Red Sea coast, linking hotels, shops, restaurants, cafés, and entertainment venues. Its name comes from the historic Sheraton resort, one of the first major international hotels in the area, which helped shape the growth of local tourism from the late twentieth century onward. The wider district is also known locally as Sakala or Sekalla.

The road stretches for several kilometers, with its busiest section filled with souvenir shops, clothing stores, jewelry sellers, perfume shops, cafés, seafood restaurants, and small local businesses. Modern storefronts stand beside older establishments, while nearby mosques, hotels, and squares make the area a common meeting point.

Walking north also leads toward the marina area, where the atmosphere changes from busy street commerce to a more polished waterfront setting.
In the evening, the area becomes especially active as temperatures cool and people gather to dine, shop, and socialize. Street lighting, outdoor seating, taxis, and pedestrians create a lively urban scene. Visitors can see daily local life alongside tourism, giving the area a wider character beyond beaches and resorts.
