National Races Village, Yangon

National Races Village, built by the Ministry of Border Affairs, is a village showcases buildings representing various national races in the country, each with distinct symbols.

The village features traditional houses of eight different national races: Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan. These houses highlight diverse styles of attire, culture, music, and literature. Visitors can observe customs and architectural styles unique to each race, along with intricate handicrafts. Some houses even have people dressed in traditional clothing, showcasing different dress styles.

Within the village, you can find attractions like the Nan Myint Tower (Watch Tower), Crocodile Farm, Bird Sanctuary, Golden Deer, Handicraft Center, Main Hall, Grand Gate, Playground, Mangrove Tree Walkway, and Orchid Garden. The village also features small replicas of notable sites such as Htokekhanthein Pagoda, Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, Mt. Zwegabin, Rih Lake, Mt. Khakaborazi, Inlay Lake, Taung Gwe Pagoda, and Ngwe Taung Dam.

The village hosts festivals of various national races, allowing visitors to experience traditional dances and sometimes even witness a real traditional wedding, not staged for tourists.
