Nevada Historical Society, Reno

Nevada Historical Society is the oldest museum of the state. It tells about the history of people living on the territory of the state for more than 10,000 years. Visitors can learn about lifestyle and culture of the region’s Native Americans and first European explorers and settlers. Nevada Historical Society houses a gallery exhibiting the art of past centuries and nowadays, of local artists. The library features the largest research collection of the West; manuscripts, books, photographs, maps and newspapers will broaden your knowledge of American history. You can also visit the gift shop for Nevada-made handcrafted objects. Nevada Historical Society is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
