Omaha Performing Arts, Omaha

Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa) is a nonprofit organization that presents live performances, provides arts education, and operates several major performing arts venues. Incorporated as the Omaha Performing Arts Society in 2000, the organization expanded significantly with the opening of the Holland Performing Arts Center in 2005.

Today, O-pa manages the Orpheum Theater, Holland Performing Arts Center, Steelhouse Omaha, and the Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement. Its annual season includes Broadway productions, concerts, jazz, comedy, dance, family entertainment, and performances by nationally and internationally recognized artists. The historic Orpheum Theater hosts Broadway musicals, theatrical productions, concerts, dance performances, and other large-scale events. The Holland Performing Arts Center, opened in 2005, includes the approximately 2,000-seat Peter Kiewit Concert Hall and the smaller Suzanne and Walter Scott Hall, designed for orchestral and chamber music performances. Steelhouse Omaha provides a flexible venue for concerts and contemporary entertainment, while the Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement offers classrooms, rehearsal areas, and spaces for workshops and community programs. Together, these venues support performances ranging from major touring productions to educational activities.

Education and community engagement are central to O-pa’s mission. Since 2005, its programs have reached more than one million people through student matinees, Broadway master classes, workshops, camps, school partnerships, and free community performances. Initiatives such as Jazz on the Green, arts-access programs, dance and theater classes, and community events extend its activities beyond traditional performances. Visitors can experience Broadway shows, concerts, dance, and educational programs, with schedules and participating artists changing throughout the year.
