Palazzo Verità-Poeta, Verona

Palazzo Verità-Poeta, Verona

Palazzo Verità Poeta is an elegant architectural gem located in San Silvestro Alley in Verona, close to Castelvecchio and the Gavi Arch. The palace is named after Verità Poeta, a prominent family in Verona with rich historical ties. Built in the 1700s, the palace's design and adornment were led by architect Antonio Galli da Bibbiena. Galli da Bibbiena, renowned for his theater design across Europe, oversaw the structure's layout, main hall decorations, and creative coordination.

Artists Filippo Maccari, Francesco Lorenzi, and Lorenzo Pavia adorned the interiors, with their names enshrined above the doors of the vast 100-square-meter Salone delle Feste. Lorenzo Pavia's passing in December 1764 after completing his designated task aids historians in dating the construction and decoration's conclusion.

In 1939, the local authorities designated the Palazzo Verità Poeta a Historic Monument due to its 18th-century Venetian architectural style. Inside, a magnificent Ballroom on the main floor is linked to six other large, frescoed rooms through an impressive marmorino staircase with painted views and trompe-l'œil techniques.

The central hall boasts an impressive fresco on its expansive ceiling. The meticulously calculated perspective of ceiling columns ensures accuracy from any angle. A grand garden of over 1,000 square meters, accessed by a stunning "Roman" staircase, adds to the magnificence of Palazzo Verità Poeta.
