Paseo De Las Artes (Arts Promenade), Cordoba
Paseo de las Artes is one of the main cultural and craft areas in Córdoba, especially active on weekends and holidays. Its roots go back to an 1889 workers’ housing complex commissioned by mayor Luis Revol. Built around shared courtyards, it replaced informal ranchos in an area once nicknamed “El Abrojal” and “El Infiernillo” for its thorny landscape, poverty, and rough reputation.
The craft fair began in 1981, during Argentina’s military dictatorship, and became a rare space for public expression. Today, visitors find ceramics, leather goods, textiles, jewelry, prints, books, recycled objects, and small design pieces. The atmosphere remains informal, with tourists browsing, speaking with makers, and moving between stalls, cafés, workshops, and cultural spaces.
Antiques are an important part of the area, especially around Pasaje Revol, a cobblestone passage known for collectors’ items such as vintage typewriters, old cameras, vinyl records, and objects from older local homes. Nearby, Casa de Pepino adds another layer to the visit. Built in 1914 with a corner shape often compared to a ship’s bow, it once served as a general store and meeting point for Italian, Spanish, and Syrian-Lebanese immigrant families.
