Photographers' Gallery, London

Established in 1971, the Photographers' Gallery marked the inception of independent photography galleries in London and continues to hold the title of being the largest public photographic gallery in the city. Housed in a former warehouse, it has exhibited a diverse array of photographers, including renowned figures like Robert Capa, Sebastião Salgado, Nick Knight, and Corinne Day, as well as emerging talents and valuable historical archives. This recognition has rightfully positioned it as a trailblazer in the realm of UK photography.

Currently, the gallery features three floors of dynamic and thought-provoking exhibitions that undergo regular changes, always offering compelling reasons for a visit. Additionally, visitors can explore the on-site shop and café, making it an ideal location for engaging in photography discussions and escaping the bustling atmosphere of nearby Oxford Circus. Furthermore, on the 3rd floor, there's a camera obscura, which is open to the public when not in use for other activities (please check the website or inquire at the reception for the most up-to-date availability). The gallery also houses a print salesroom and an archive.
