Royal Poinciana Chapel, West Palm Beach
The Royal Poinciana Chapel is a historic and spiritual landmark that has stood the test of time, offering a place of worship, reflection, and community for over a century. Originally founded in 1884, the Chapel was initially a Congregational church, meeting in homes and temporary spaces. The project gained momentum with the support of Henry Flagler, who provided both land and funding for the Chapel’s construction on the grounds of his Royal Poinciana Hotel.
Completed in 1898, the Chapel's original design combined colonial New England style with impressive light-filled spaces, drawing visitors with its open, welcoming atmosphere.
The Chapel is complemented by the Olivia and Walter Kiebach Memorial Garden, offering a peaceful outdoor sanctuary, as well as the historic Sea Gull Cottage, once home to Henry Flagler. The addition of Kirkman Hall and extensive renovations have expanded the Chapel's ability to serve as a gathering space for personal reflection, celebrations, and community engagement.
