Russo Lee Gallery, Portland

Russo Lee Gallery, Portland

Russo Lee Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded in 1986 by Laura Russo. Originally known as Laura Russo Gallery, it was renamed in 2016 to recognise both its founder and Martha Lee, who became owner after many years with the gallery. The gallery has promoted Pacific Northwest art from its original location for four decades.

The gallery presents regularly changing exhibitions featuring painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, glass, and mixed-media art. Its artists explore landscapes, wildlife, abstraction, portraiture, and social themes. The gallery represents established and emerging artists, as well as important Northwest estates. New exhibitions often coincide with First Thursday art walks.

Beyond its exhibition programme, Russo Lee Gallery advises private collectors, museums, corporations, and public institutions, helping place Pacific Northwest artworks in collections throughout the United States. A neighbouring fire in 2024 forced a temporary closure after smoke and soot affected more than 1,500 artworks. The gallery later reopened following extensive conservation work.
