SPACE, Pittsburgh

SPACE Gallery is located right in the center of Pittsburgh. It's a unique gallery housed in a distinct triangular building at street level. It's a project of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, to create a connected and welcoming art scene in the city.

The main aim of SPACE Gallery is to promote a lively art community that brings together different kinds of art, showcasing both traditional and cutting-edge works. The gallery is dedicated to showcasing new art across various fields, supporting both established and up-and-coming artists. It also works hard to give local artists from Pittsburgh more visibility outside the city, so they can have a bigger impact.

SPACE Gallery takes a broad approach to presenting art, trying to reach as many people as possible. It values making new art, using modern technology, and including artists from all kinds of backgrounds. This inclusive mindset shows in its exhibitions, which change five to six times a year and give emerging artists a platform to share their work in a supportive environment.

Even though SPACE Gallery doesn't directly pay artists to create new work, it still helps them a lot by providing resources like manpower, technology, advice, and money. This support helps artists turn their creative ideas into real projects that might not happen otherwise, making Pittsburgh's art scene even richer.
