Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre, Colombo

Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre, Colombo

The Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre is a large indoor venue used for exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, and public events. It started operating in 1994 and was fully recognized as a working venue by 1996. The centre was set up as a joint project involving the Ministry of Tourism and the Pico Holdings Group. Events held here include job fairs, education expos, product launches, shopping festivals, and national exhibitions.

The building has wide, open halls with high ceilings and no interior columns, making it easy to set up booths, stages, or seating for different events. The main hall offers about 3,700 to 4,000 square meters of flexible indoor space. Bright lighting and full air-conditioning help keep the area comfortable, even when it is busy. Meeting rooms, service areas, and parking support the smooth running of events.

What visitors see depends on what is happening at the time. Some events focus on trade and industry, while others are open to the general public. Shopping festivals and education fairs are common and may include food stalls. During busy times, security checks and ticket counters are in place, so it is best to check event dates before visiting.
