The Supreme Court building, inaugurated in 1992, stands as a pinnacle of modern architecture in the country, blending elements reminiscent of various periods in Israel's history. For instance, the copper-clad pyramid in the library wing draws inspiration from the Tomb of Zechariah and the Pillar of Absalom in the Kidron Valley. The cloistered courtyard, faced with stone, echoes the central courtyard of the Rockefeller Museum, while the courtrooms themselves, extending from the main hall like five fingers, take on the shape of synagogues from the Talmudic period (200–600 AD). The mosaic in the entrance hails from Al-Hamma near the Golan Heights, and the stairway leading up from the entrance is designed to resemble one of the steep streets in the Old City's Christian Quarter.

At the summit, a panoramic window offers great views over West Jerusalem. From Sunday to Thursday, visitors can join a free guided tour of the court in English at noon (passport ID required), learning about Israel's legal system, which integrates elements from the common-law system of the Mandate era, the Ottoman system, and Jewish canon law. Notably, criminal trials in Israel are judge-only, without a jury, a departure from Western systems such as those of England, Scotland, or the United States.
