Supreme High Court, Riyadh

Standing tall with fourteen stories above ground and one subterranean level, the Supreme High Court is a modern judicial landmark. Acting as both a functional courthouse and a city-scale architectural symbol, the building serves as a physical gateway between the old inner-city blocks and newer public gardens. Its imposing silhouette is clad in the local yellow Riyadh stone, and its base is finished in flamed granite.

Inside, the court includes administrative offices, a mosque, a dedicated library, a multipurpose hall, and even the chambers of the head of the court and secretary general, blending duty with public services in a single civic complex. Visitors can stroll around the perimeter to appreciate the landscaped courtyards and how pedestrian flows integrate into the surrounding urban restoration project designed to revive Old Riyadh.

Although the building is generally not accessible to tourists, it is a notable sight along walking routes through the historic center. Its clean lines and use of contrasting materials may interest photography enthusiasts, while the surrounding plazas provide shaded areas and landscaping that offer a quiet place to observe the area's gradual transformation.
