The Manor, Los Angeles

The Manor, Los Angeles

The Manor, which is also referred to as Spelling Manor, is a grand mansion situated in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, right across from Holmby Park. It was built in 1988 and was originally designed as a private residence for Aaron Spelling, a well-known television producer responsible for hit series such as Dynasty, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, 7th Heaven, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Charmed.

At one point, this property came into the ownership of Petra Ecclestone, a British heiress and the daughter of Formula One racing mogul Bernie Ecclestone. Petra Ecclestone acquired the house in 2011 for $85 million, after it had been on the market for two years with an initial asking price of $150 million, which at the time made it the most expensive residential real estate listing in the United States.

In June 2019, The Manor was sold to an anonymous buyer for a staggering $119.7 million, setting a new record as the highest sale in the history of California real estate transactions.

The Manor is designed in the style of a French chateau and boasts an impressive 123 rooms and a whopping 56,000 square feet (approximately 5,200 square meters) of living space, all situated on over 4.6 acres (about 1.9 hectares) of land. Notably, it holds the distinction of being the largest residence in all of Los Angeles County.
