The Old Oak, Cork

The Old Oak is a long-established pub and entertainment venue known for combining a traditional bar setting with a busy programme of live music and late-night events. Although the frontage appears fairly compact, the interior extends into a much larger space with several seating and bar areas. Television screens are also used for major sporting events, giving the pub a lively atmosphere during important matches.

Music is a central part of the venue. Live performances are normally scheduled from Sunday to Wednesday, while DJs take over on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The programme ranges from rock and pop to Irish music, with the atmosphere becoming particularly energetic later in the evening. Bar food is served daily, alongside draught beer, stout, spirits and other standard pub drinks.

The Old Oak is closely connected with Cyprus Avenue, the dedicated concert venue located above it. Opened in 2003, Cyprus Avenue hosts Irish and international musicians, tribute acts, comedy and other performances throughout the year. This connection makes The Old Oak more than a conventional pub: visitors may encounter casual live music downstairs while a ticketed concert or event is taking place elsewhere in the same entertainment complex.
