Torre Fortabat, Buenos Aires

The Fortabat Tower (Torre Fortabat) stands as one of the key corporate headquarters facing Puerto Madero, adjacent to the Catalinas Norte complex. This tower marked an early instance of intelligent office buildings in Buenos Aires.

Conceived by Peralta Ramos (SEPRA) in 1991, the tower's construction unfolded between 1993 and 1995. The central challenge entailed leveraging an existing yet abandoned incomplete structure. This was accomplished by introducing new floors through an independent vertical load-bearing structure, thereby achieving the required space for its new purpose.

This tower is classified as AAA, notable for its advanced digital network governing communications, security, and office levels. The floor layout is straightforward: entry to the ground floor occurs through entrances on three of the tower's four facades. The central core accommodates vertical circulation alongside restroom facilities on successive floors.

Crafted to bring together the diverse companies under the Fortabat (Loma Negra) holding, its façade garnered attention during its inauguration due to its bluish reflective glass imported from Mar del Plata. The exterior features a blend of stone coverings, including Blue Bahia granite, White Sivek marble, and Rosa Portugués, adding an air of luxury. Enhancing the entrance of the Fortabat Tower is a sculpture titled "Protective Angel," a creation of the artist Pérez Celis.
