Torres de Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz Towers), Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The Santa Cruz Towers soar 120 m into the Canarian sky. Conceived by local architect Julián Valladares, these twin residential skyscrapers were built between 2004 and 2006. At completion, they were not only the tallest buildings in the Canary Islands but also the tallest residential towers in all of Spain-holding that prestigious title until 2010 .
The lower commercial levels house shops, cafés, and offices, while the upper floors accommodate stylish apartments with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the bustling port below.
Originally built with steel façade panels, the towers endured the harsh conditions of Tropical Storm Delta in 2005. This event led to the decision to enhance their exterior with reinforced stainless-steel cladding-first applied to Tower II during construction and later added to Tower I as a retrofit.
