Mexico City has so many wonderful bites and sips, and you’ll only have so much room for all of it. You’ll leave regretting the places and dishes you didn’t get to try, but it’s all the more reason to want to go back! This fact of Mexico City trips presented a conundrum for me in writing this Eat & Drink in CDMX guide.

With these guides, I usually list specific places that I found exceptional, but Mexico City is so vast and there are so many incredible places that I wouldn’t even come close to giving you a comprehensive guide of where to eat and drink. So, instead, with this Eat & Drink in CDMX guide, I’m going to share dishes and drinks that I loved and that I think you will, too.

I’ll share where I had them when I think that it’s worth a special trip, but the focus will be on the bites and sips in Mexico City that I think you’ll love.

Perched on a stool at the Las Dietéticas stand in the Mercado de Antojitos Mexicanos Juanita in Coyoacán, a bright yellow plastic plate covered in sanitary biodegradable plastic in one hand, I gingerly picked up a piece of huitlacoche quesadilla from a platter held by Cedrela, my tour guide.
