Aachener Tierpark (Aachen Animal Park - Euregiozoo), Aachen
Aachener Tierpark (Euregiozoo) was established in 1966 as a family-oriented animal park. It covers about 8.9 hectares and includes roughly 3,000 meters of flat walking paths, making it easy to visit with children, older visitors, and strollers. Most visits last one to two hours at a relaxed pace.
The park keeps a wide range of animals. Alongside familiar farm animals such as goats, donkeys, sheep, and pigs, visitors can also see deer and ponies. The park also keeps several exotic species, such as zebras, camels, cheetahs, penguins, and red pandas. Enclosures are close to the paths for easy viewing, and a supervised petting area allows children to interact with selected animals. Short information boards explain animal origins and care.
Between animal areas, there are open lawns, shaded benches, and several playgrounds where families often stop to rest or eat. A small café and snack stand are available, but many visitors bring their own food. The park stays quiet and relaxed, focused on walking and simple animal viewing rather than shows or crowds.
