Attic Gallery, Portland

Attic Gallery, Portland

In the early 1980s there were only three art galleries in Portland, which was not enough for artists feel eager to show their hard work to the public. So, in 1973 Diana Faville opened a gallery in her home's attic to help her friend Sidonie Caron make a proper art exhibition of her paintings. Now the gallery is one of the largest and the oldest in Portland and is well-known all over the state. The Attic Gallery exhibits works in oils, pastels, and acrylics as well as sculptures in metal, wood, bronze and clay. The gallery’s main goal is to help contemporary artists become active in interacting with collectors. Come and enjoy colorful, finely executed paintings created in the best traditions of contemporary art. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
