Biserica Sfantul Nicolae Domnesc (Saint Nicholas Princely Church), Iasi

Saint Nicholas Princely Church is a Romanian Orthodox church originally built between 1491 and 1492 by Stephen the Great. It underwent significant reconstruction from 1884 to 1904 under the French architect André Lecomte du Noüy. The church has a rich history, having served as a metropolitan cathedral in the late 17th century and being the site where many Moldavian princes were anointed.

The church's interior has been entirely redone, with fragments of 17th-century paintings preserved and new paintings done in a neo-Byzantine style by French artists. Notable features include portraits of founders Stephen the Great and King Carol I of Romania, depicted with his family in traditional Romanian costume.

Saint Nicholas Princely Church is notable for its historical significance and architectural style. Initially built with raw and finished stone, the church's exterior features decorative bricks, niches with faces of saints and philosophers, and enameled discs reproducing Moldavian seals.
