Casa de las Ciencias (House of Science), La Coruna

The House of Science is an interactive science museum located in Santa Margarita Park, one of the green lungs of La Coruña. Inaugurated on June 1, 1985, this pioneering space is part of the Scientific Museums of Coruña, offering a hands-on experience that brings scientific concepts to life. Housed in a charming palace within the park, the museum is easily recognizable for its classic architecture, which elegantly contrasts with its innovative exhibits. Established under the initiative of Mayor Francisco Vázquez Vázquez, the museum aims to foster scientific curiosity and technological education among visitors of all ages.

The museum also dedicates an area to astronomy in the media, connecting visitors with how space exploration and celestial phenomena are communicated to the public.

A highlight of the House of Science is its planetarium, which allows guests to journey through the cosmos with remarkable realism. Equipped with digital projectors for immersive space explorations and a classic Zeiss analog projector that beautifully recreates the starry night sky, the planetarium transports visitors to the farthest reaches of the universe. Italian philosopher Umberto Eco once described the House of Science as "the most formidable museum in the world," a testament to its impactful design and commitment to scientific outreach.
