The Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) is the UK’s leading media arts center based in Liverpool. Renowned for its cutting-edge exploration of new media and digital art, FACT has been a cornerstone of innovation since its establishment in 1988. Housed in an award-winning building designed by Austin-Smith: Lord, it was Liverpool’s first new arts building in over six decades when it opened its doors in 2003.

FACT's contemporary space includes three galleries, hosting four exhibitions annually, featuring local and international media art; four cinema screens, operated by Picturehouse, offering a mix of independent, arthouse, and mainstream films; and a café and bar, providing a welcoming hub for visitors.

Over the years, FACT has commissioned and presented over 350 new media and digital artworks, working with influential artists like Pipilotti Rist, Nam June Paik, Bill Viola, Agnes Varda, Haroon Mirza, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

FACT actively collaborates with international and local partners, including being a key venue for the Liverpool Biennial, where it has showcased works by artists such as Mohamed Bourouissa and Agnes Varda. Additionally, FACT co-produced "Broken Symmetries" in partnership with Arts at CERN and other global institutions.

FACT continues to push the boundaries of media arts, offering a platform for experimental and underrepresented works. With its vibrant programming and enduring commitment to innovation, FACT remains an essential cultural landmark in Liverpool, fostering creativity and technological exploration for over three decades.
