Framing & Art Centre, London

Framing & Art Centre, London

Framing & Art Centre is a small gallery and workshop that combines art display with custom framing services. Its roots go back to the mid-1970s, when the business began as “The Framing Experience,” a do-it-yourself framing shop. In the early 1990s, it shifted to a full-service model, and by 1993 the current name was adopted, marking a move to professional on-site framing. The business has remained family-run, with current ownership continuing its focus on both craftsmanship and local engagement.

Inside, the space is arranged to show both finished pieces and framing materials. Walls display paintings, prints, and photographs alongside samples of frames, mat boards, and glass. This setup shows how different choices affect the final look. Staff work on-site, and the entire framing process is completed within the workshop using conservation methods designed to protect artwork over time.

The centre supports a range of artistic styles, including local work as well as reproductions and decorative pieces. Rotating displays present work by local artists, while a small retail section includes Canadian jewelry, pottery, and handmade items. It also shows how artworks are prepared and preserved.
