Fuente de Los Surfistas (Fountain of the Surfers), La Coruna

The Fountain of the Surfers is an iconic monument situated between Matadero Beach and Orzán Beach in La Coruña, right in front of the Meliá María Pita Hotel. Inaugurated on July 14, 1992, by then-mayor Paco Vázquez, it stands as a tribute to the daring surfers who ride the waves along La Coruña's coastline. Designed by the Galician sculptor José Castiñeiras, the same artist behind the famous statue of María Pita in the city's main square, the fountain features two impressive bronze sculptures of surfers, masterfully capturing the energy and balance required to conquer the sea.
