The National Library of Estonia in Tallinn is a significant building in the fields of cultural architecture and library studies. Its design is the work of Raine Karp and Sulev Vahtra, and its construction lasted from 1985 to 1993. This building, having eight floors above ground and two below, is the biggest library in the Baltic region, showing its importance and size.

Inside, the library is well-organized and equipped. It has 20 reading rooms with 600 seats, making it easy and accessible for people to study and read. The building also includes a big conference hall, a theater, and many places for exhibitions, making it a key spot for cultural activities.

The National Library is more than just a place for books; it's an active center for arts and culture. It hosts various art exhibits from Estonia and abroad, adding a visual aspect to its literary collections.

A key part of the library's art focus is the Eduard Wiiralt Gallery, opened in September 1996 thanks to Harry Männil and Henry Radevall's donations, including many works by the famous Estonian artist Eduard Wiiralt. This gallery displays 62 of Wiiralt's pieces, with 20 originals shown at different times.

The library's significance in the modern art scene has grown since 1998, thanks to the Eduard Wiiralt Prize and the Estonian Contemporary Graphic Art Exhibition. These events, organized with various partners, have elevated the library's reputation in the art world, emphasizing a community-driven approach to supporting and celebrating art.
