The "Königlicher Hirschgarten" beer garden derives its name from the adjacent leisure park known as Hirschgarten, which includes a deer enclosure. It boasts the title of the world's largest beer garden, with room for 8,000 guests amidst vast chestnut trees.

Nestled within a lush area, the Hirschgarten offers pastoral views with fallow deer in close proximity and open fields perfect for sports or relaxation. Despite its capacity, it rarely feels overcrowded, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere even during the busy summer nights.

In keeping with tradition, patrons have the unique experience of washing their own beer steins. On tap are two varieties of light beer: the traditional Augustiner served from wooden casks and the Tegernseer Spezial Hell. The self-service section provides a variety of classic beer garden fare at economical prices. A must-try is the Steckerlfisch from Fischer-Vroni, which is a local delicacy of grilled fish on a skewer. Additionally, a range of homemade ice creams can be purchased from an ice cream booth.

For sports enthusiasts, the beer garden becomes a hub during major football events, where multiple screens allow fans to watch the games. For instance, during the World Cup, every one of the 8,000 seats had a view of the game through five large screens.
