Latin American Masters, Los Angeles

Since its establishment in 1987, Latin American Masters has garnered a strong reputation as one of the world's premier galleries specializing in Modern and Contemporary Latin American art. The gallery showcases the works of esteemed Latin American artists such as Francisco Toledo, Fernando de Szyszlo, Rufino Tamayo, Olga de Amaral, Arnaldo Roche, Julio Valdez, José Alberto Marchi, Gunther Gerzso, Roberto Matta, Carlos Merida, and others of significant stature within the Latin American art scene.

In commemoration of their 30th Anniversary, Latin American Masters gallery is hosting a group exhibition featuring artworks sourced from private collections in Southern California. Noteworthy pieces on display include paintings by Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Toledo, and Gunther Gerzso. The gallery takes pride in its direct collaborations with these influential Mexican artists.

Wifredo Lam and Roberto Matta have made significant contributions to Surrealism and subsequent art movements during the 1940s and 50s. Latin American Masters has curated individual exhibitions for both artists in the past, and their works will also be part of the 30th Anniversary Exhibition.

Another prominent figure showcased in this exhibition is Fernando de Szyszlo. Szyszlo's art continues to bridge the gap between Pre-Hispanic cultures and the historical avant-garde. Notably, Szyszlo was featured in the 2016 exhibition "Plural Modernities" at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and has been a recurring presence in exhibitions hosted by Latin American Masters over the past decade.
