Le Vaisseau, Strasbourg

If your children are starting to feel a bit restless from visiting official buildings and churches, you can treat them to an enjoyable experience at Le Vaisseau in the Neudorf area of Strasbourg. This educational center opened its doors in 2005 and provides a place for each child to learn various things in engaging and entertaining ways.

With more than 130 interactive exhibits, 3D films, workshops, and a spacious educational garden, the staff leading the activities take the children on a journey to explore science, technology, and the world around us. They patiently address all the endless "Why" questions that children tend to ask throughout the day.

The permanent exhibits include "I Build" for children's creative projects, "Water" exploring water's properties and societal importance, and "Log'hic" for solving puzzles and learning math concepts.

The "Animals" zone helps kids learn to respect animals by letting them explore a kangaroo's pouch, observe ants, and play a naming game for animals. Afterward, in the "Being Human" area, they can discover their own bodies. The "Garden" teaches about plants and insects, with a pond full of fish and frogs, plus dwarf sheep and a resident hamster to see.

Le Vaisseau features a shop that offers educational games and souvenirs, as well as a cafeteria where you can enjoy salads, sandwiches, and soft drinks. The exhibits are available in English, French, and German, and most of them are also accessible in Braille.
