Level 21 Mall, Denpasar

Level 21 Mall is a modern shopping and leisure complex that offers a practical change of pace from temples, markets, and beach areas. Before taking its current form, the site was known as Denpasar Junction; it reopened as Level 21 in November 2016. Despite the name, the “21” does not refer to the number of floors. The mall has three main shopping levels and a separate cinema level with Cineplex XXI, making the name more of a branding choice than a literal description.

The mall is aimed less at resort-area tourism and more at local residents, young professionals, and families. This gives it a different atmosphere from the larger tourist-focused malls in Bali: prices and brands tend to feel more everyday, with familiar names such as Uniqlo and Adidas alongside casual dining, cafés, beauty services, and local food options. For visitors, this local focus can be part of the appeal, offering a glimpse of how people in the city shop, meet, eat, and spend leisure time.

Its long rectangular layout and central atrium make browsing easy and encourage window shopping and social gathering. Alfresco 21, the open-air area, adds a livelier edge with music and community events. The mall also hosts talent competitions and specialist exhibitions, making it more than a shopping centre: it is also a local meeting place.
