Marinella, Naples

Marinella, Naples

Marinella is an Italian necktie company established by Eugenio Marinella in 1914 in Naples, renowned for producing some of the finest neckties globally. The company's origins trace back to a quaint 20-square-meter shop situated along the picturesque Naples seafront, a favored promenade for the city's elite.

With standalone boutiques in Naples, Milan, Rome, and Tokyo, Marinella has also expanded its presence to New York, where it retails at the Bergdorf Goodman department store. Each necktie crafted by Marinella is meticulously handmade, ensuring uniqueness and quality. In addition to neckties, the company offers a range of products for men, including bags, watches, cologne, accessories, and cufflinks. Their women's collection features items such as bags, scarves, perfumes, and accessories.

Eugenio Marinella's venture began in 1914 when he opened a shop on Piazza Vittoria along Riviera di Chiaia in Naples. Over time, the boutique evolved into a symbol of elegance. In the 1980s, the Marinella name gained international recognition, thanks in part to President Francesco Cossiga, who often presented a box of five Marinella ties as gifts to heads of state during official visits. Eugenio and later Luigi Marinella personally traveled to England to select fabrics for their ties and shirts. The entire boutique in Naples was furnished with English materials, including the door jambs.

Today, the company is under the leadership of Eugenio's grandson, Maurizio Marinella, and his son, Alessandro Marinella.
