One Metropolitan Square, Saint Louis

One Metropolitan Square is a commercial skyscraper completed in 1989 that serves as the tallest building in St. Louis and the second-tallest building in the state of Missouri. Rising 593 feet (181 meters) with 42 stories, it became the tallest building in the city upon its completion and remains a prominent feature of the downtown skyline, surpassed statewide only by One Kansas City Place in Kansas City.

Designed by the renowned architectural firm HOK, the tower was developed as the centerpiece of the larger Metropolitan Square complex, reflecting the city's late twentieth-century urban redevelopment. The building is distinguished by its postmodern design, featuring a granite-clad exterior, vertical setbacks, and a distinctive copper gabled roof that gives the tower its recognizable silhouette.
