Salgados Beach is one of the most distinctive stretches of coastline in Albufeira, marking the town’s western boundary with a rare combination of coastal serenity and wetland biodiversity. Set beside the Salgados Lagoon and a renowned golf course, the beach offers a unique blend of golden sand, tranquil waters, and nature-rich surroundings. The Salgados Lagoon, formed by the mouths of two small rivers, spans approximately 50 hectares and serves as a vital freshwater wetland in southern Portugal. Thatched umbrellas, sun loungers, and lifeguard supervision are available during the summer months, and the surrounding dunes provide a more peaceful alternative to the region’s more built-up beaches.
