Saint-Denis Street, Montreal

Regardless of the time of year, Saint-Denis is a great street for strolling and people-watching. Located in Montreal's Latin Quarter, one can feel the bohemian vibes given off by those who live, work, or just enjoy this part of town. With the University of Quebec in the neighborhood, students add to the quirkiness of this "hip" section, while the limestone buildings with steep, outdoor staircases and peaked roofs give off a very residential feel.

From one end of the street to the other, good eateries, bars and boutiques are plentiful, forming a quintessential part of the Francophone community. The street also boasts some of the community's biggest theaters for performing arts, including Théâtre du Rideau Vert and, farther north, the renowned National Theatre School of Canada.
