Sinara Art Gallery, Yekaterinburg
The Sinara Art Gallery is a modern art museum opened in 2004. It was one of the first private art galleries in the Ural region. The gallery has organized more than 290 exhibitions, including international, online, and outdoor projects. In 2019, it moved to the Sinara Center, a restored 19th-century hospital building, and took its current name.
The gallery’s permanent collection is managed by the Sinara Cultural Initiatives Foundation and includes over 2,000 artworks. The collection covers art from the late 19th century to today, starting with an 1892 portrait by Alexander Korzukhin. It includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, and art objects. Many works show industrial scenes, factories, and the development of the Ural region, known as the Ural school of art.
The gallery shows both its permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. These include solo and themed exhibitions by contemporary Russian and regional artists. Visitors can also take part in guided tours, lectures, and artist talks. In 2024, the gallery opened the School of Curators, a program that supports local cultural projects and research.
