St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, St. Augustine

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park in St. Augustine is a must-visit destination for animal lovers of all ages. This park has been in operation since 1893 and is one of Florida's oldest continuously running attractions. Originally a minor attraction at the end of a railway running through neighboring Anastasia Island, the park's popularity grew quickly, thanks to its collection of alligators, and it moved to its current location in the early 1920s.

Today, the Alligator Farm Zoological Park features hundreds of native alligators and is the only place in the world where visitors can see all 24 species of crocodilians in one place. Visitors can also view exhibits of lemurs, Komodo dragons, toucans, and a sloth exhibit. The park is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Florida Attraction Association.

In addition to animal exhibits, the Alligator Farm offers several wildlife shows and demonstrations daily, providing lots of family fun. The park also offers two intriguing zip lines and aerial adventure courses, and for those looking for a thrilling experience, the Crocodile Crossing's Python Challenge offers a 40-foot controlled free fall adventure.

The park's bird collection is also impressive, featuring species not often seen in other zoos, including hornbills, cassowary, marabou, Cape griffon vultures, and Pesquet's parrots.

The Alligator Farm Zoological Park is open every day and offers extended summer hours until Labor Day, with the park staying open until 6 p.m. It is located on Anastasia Boulevard near Hamilton Upchurch Park and covers less than 1 acre, with one building and one structure designated as a U.S. Historic District.
