TDF MagnifiScience Centre, Karachi

TDF MagnifiScience Centre is Pakistan’s first contemporary hands-on science center, established by The Dawood Foundation to promote science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) through interactive learning. It opened to the public in September 2021 after several years of planning and development. Designed for visitors of different ages, the center emphasizes experimentation, observation, and participation rather than conventional museum displays. In early 2026, it was officially declared a museum by the Sindh government.

The center contains more than 400 interactive exhibits covering mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, environmental science, the human body, and the natural world. Visitors can explore optical illusions, forces and motion, electricity, magnetism, sound, water, robotics, and engineering challenges through hands-on activities. Facilities also include a Digital Planetarium, a creative maker space called Jugaar Ghar, classrooms, laboratories, and multipurpose learning areas. These spaces support workshops, demonstrations, experiments, and educational programs while encouraging curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry among students, families, teachers, and other visitors. Beyond its permanent exhibits, TDF MagnifiScience Centre organizes temporary exhibitions, science festivals, public lectures, astronomy events, teacher-training workshops, school outreach programs, maker activities, and competitions throughout the year. These programs bring together educators, scientists, students, and innovators while introducing scientific ideas outside traditional classroom settings.

The combination of interactive exhibits, practical experiments, specialized learning facilities, and changing educational programs allows visitors to explore scientific concepts directly while developing a better understanding of how science and technology influence everyday life.
