The Chocolate Fetish, Asheville

The Chocolate Fetish, Asheville

The Chocolate Fetish has been crafting handmade chocolates since 1986, earning recognition from international awards and building a dedicated following for its small-batch production methods. Each confection is made on-site using a proprietary blend of five European chocolates, with ingredients sourced locally when possible. The shop is known for its detailed chocolate creations, including photorealistic seashells, tinted sculptures, and molded centerpieces designed by artist-turned-chocolatier Elizabeth Foley.

Truffles are a highlight, produced in three distinct styles: America's Best, Ecstasy, and Ecstasy Elite. These range from firm, American-style centers to softer ganache in the European tradition, often incorporating ingredients such as saffron, ginger, lemon zest, or wine. Other offerings include sea salt caramels, nut chews, and chocolate bars. Visitors can observe the chocolate-making process during "Through the Glass" tours held midweek, which also include tasting samples and information about chocolate history and preparation.
