10 Best Restaurants in Amsterdam - the 2024 Edition!, Amsterdam, Netherlands
It must be mid-December, because I’m back with my annual roundup of the best restaurants in Amsterdam! Each year for the past decade, I’ve selected the city’s restaurants that impressed me the most. And this time, they range in style from fine dining to simple sandwiches, and in geographical inspiration from Marseille to Mexico. Some of these restaurants opened in 2024; others have been around for longer but it took until recently for me to visit them. As always, this list is completely subjective: it’s just one Amsterdammer’s experience (albeit that of a writer who has been covering food, wine and restaurants in the city for almost 20 years).

8 of the Best New(ish) Amsterdam Restaurants 2025
Twelve years in, this annual restaurant round-up has become one of my favourite traditions: a look back at the restaurants that defined my year of dining and drinking. In 2025, that meant a flurry of newcomers that opened their doors this year, plus a few 2024 arrivals that I was simply too slow to get to at the time. What they all share is the kind of cooking or hospitality that reminded me: yes,... view more

What We Did Our First Time Visiting Amsterdam
As we were walking through Schiphol Airport at the end of our trip, I said to Beth “We did a lot but I don’t feel like we did everything.” She laughed and said, “Amsterdam is a city you keep coming back to.” And I agree with this! Although this was our first trip to Amsterdam, it will not be our last.
Dam Drinking Guide: Amsterdam Cocktail Bars & Breweries
I make no secret of the fact that half the time I can barely remember what I ate for dessert – or even if I ate dessert at all. My penchant for all things alcoholic replaces any kind of a sweet tooth I may once have had; and if I do indulge in something sweet, there’s a good chance that the booze will completely obliterate the memory.
