Asia Camera Museum, George Town

Opened in 2013, Malaysia's first camera museum promises an enlightening journey through the history of photography. Guided tours lead visitors to explore a camera obscura, marvel at a collection of over 1000 vintage cameras (some available for hands-on exploration), admire old portraits, step into a darkroom, and experience a retro-style photo studio. With monthly exhibitions and festivals, there's always something new to discover.

For younger generations, born post-1985, it's a journey back in time to an era when film cameras reigned supreme and Kodak, the renowned film producer, towered over the industry. Meanwhile, the darkroom experience offers a glimpse into the now-forgotten art of film processing, stirring nostalgia for simpler times.

After the journey through time, guests can descend the stairs and be welcomed back to the present with the aroma of homemade fare from the in-house café, Double Exposure.
