Babelsberg Film Park, Potsdam
The Babelsberg Film Park, located in the Babelsberg district of Potsdam, is a seasonal amusement park dedicated to the world of film. Situated next to the historic Babelsberg film studio, the oldest large-scale film studio in the world and the largest in Europe, the park is an integral part of the media city of Babelsberg. Since its establishment in 1912, the studio has produced over 3,000 films for cinema and television.
The film park, which opened in 1991 following German reunification, initially offered a glimpse into the film industry with exhibits showcasing typical film workplaces, props, and external decorations. It aimed to familiarize visitors with the world of film, focusing on German film history and the cinematic craftsmanship and tricks developed at Babelsberg. In 1993, inspired by theme parks like Universal Studios Hollywood, the park introduced a studio tour and its first stunt show, expanding its attraction lineup.
Over the years, Babelsberg Film Park has expanded to include over 20 film-themed attractions, three shows, 4D and XD cinemas, and original sets and exhibitions. In 1996, the park introduced its mascot, Flimmy, to enhance its brand. By 1998, it opened the children's area "Panama," inspired by Janosch’s book "Oh, how beautiful is Panama," creating a unique world for young visitors. That same year, the adventure restaurant “Prinz Eisenherz” opened, themed around the 1997 movie, offering an immersive medieval dining experience. In 1999, the park added a 15-meter-high volcano arena with covered seating for 2,500 guests, hosting daily live stunt shows.
In 2011, the park celebrated its anniversary by relocating the Blue Ball from Berlin's Breitscheidplatz and adding the Dome of Babelsberg with an XD adventure theater. New attractions included the “Lummerland” set from "Jim Knopf and Lukas the Locomotive Driver" in 2017, and the “Twisted Animals - The Western Show” in 2018. In 2021, the park expanded with a redesigned film set tour and a new Jim Knopf adventure playground, enhancing its appeal for film enthusiasts and families.

Sanssouci Park is a unique Potsdam landmark that occupies 290 hectares in the heart of the city. The Park is named after the Sanssouci Palace that it surrounds, which in turn takes its name from the French phrase "sans souci", which means carefree, and implies that the palace was designated as a place of fun, rather than a seat of power.

Neuer Garten Walking Tour
Laid out at the behest of Friedrich William II in 1787, Potsdam's Neuer Garten (New Garden) was indeed "new" compared to the already in place Sanssouci Park.
Between 1816 and 1828, the area was modified further as an English-style, open landscape garden, with an aim to reproduce nature – trees and plants were left to grow naturally, unshaped and untrimmed. Rural life was also... view more
