Centocelle Street is one of Civitavecchia’s most historic and vibrant streets, serving as a connection between the port and the city center. This elegant promenade has long been a focal point of commerce and culture, offering a pleasant walking route lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. The wide, slightly inclined street is largely traffic-free in its lower section, making it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll. Among the most notable landmarks on Centocelle Street is the Teatro Comunale Traiano, an important cultural venue inaugurated in 1844. At the time, Civitavecchia was one of the few provincial cities to have a dedicated theater, which highlights the city's historical appreciation for the arts. Another significant building is the Palazzo della Finanza, an 18th-century structure that adds to the grandeur of the street.
