Daman-e-Koh (Skirt of the Hill), Islamabad

Daman-e-Koh is a picturesque hilltop garden situated north of Islamabad, nestled in the heart of the Margalla Hills. The name "Daman-e-Koh" combines two Persian words: "Dāman" meaning "skirt" and "Kōh" meaning "hill," collectively referring to the "foothills." The garden is perched approximately 2,400 feet above sea level and about 500 feet higher than Islamabad, offering a panoramic view of the city.

This popular destination attracts both residents and tourists, who come to enjoy the stunning vistas of Islamabad, including notable landmarks like the Faisal Mosque, Seventh Avenue, and Rawal Lake. The viewpoint is equipped with observational telescopes for an enhanced viewing experience. The Capital Development Authority has improved the area by adding electric-powered vehicles and expanding the car-parking facilities.

Daman-e-Koh is also a favorite spot for picnics, with ample amenities including snack vendors, children's play areas, and several restaurants, including the renowned Monal, known for its delicious dishes. Wildlife, such as monkeys, can often be seen, and during the winter months, leopards are reported to descend from the higher hills of Murree.
