Francisco Brennand Sculpture Park, Recife
The Francisco Brennand Sculpture Park is an open-air art museum. It stands as one of the main accomplishments of the Pernambuco-born artist Francisco Brennand.
Conceived in the 1990s as part of the project "I Saw the World... It Began in Recife" to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Brazil, the park was inaugurated on December 29, 2000.
In total, there are 90 sculptures created by Francisco Brennand, with the main work in the complex being the Crystal Tower, which stands 32 meters tall and is made of clay and bronze.
In 2014, all the artworks, as well as the park itself, were restored, and the complex also received enhanced security measures.
