Galerie Frey, Vienna

Galerie Frey, Vienna

Vienna has emerged as a significant center for contemporary art since the late 1980s. In response to this trend, Galerie Frey founded in March 2004, showcasing both established and emerging artists. The gallery has positioned itself as a prominent platform for contemporary art in recent years.

Galerie Frey serves as an established venue for the exhibition and sale of contemporary fine art. Its primary focus lies in highlighting Austrian and international artists working in the realms of painting and sculpture.

The management of the two gallery spaces in Vienna and Salzburg falls to the siblings Andrea and Peter Frey. Moreover, Galerie Frey has successfully garnered international interest in its art program through its participation in renowned art fairs such as those held in Basel, Miami, and New York.

Situated between the Albertina and Stephansplatz, and in close proximity to Vienna's traditional galleries, the gallery premises span three floors. The basement hosts individual and group exhibitions, while the ground and upper floors serve as a showroom, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest developments by artists exclusively represented by the gallery, irrespective of temporary exhibitions.
